Our lovely client based in Royston are looking for a Purchase Ledger Assistant to join their busy team.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile supplier and customer statements
- Allocate payments on supplier and customer accounts
- Send out remittance advices and customer statements
- Make general ledger entries, including accruals and prepayments on SUN Systems
- Process all staff credit card expenses on SAP Concur and generate expense reports
- Resolve supplier queries efficiently via telephone and email, ensuring timely resolution
- Manage petty cash and prepaid cards
- Assist with billings and accounts receivable when necessary
- Support the external auditor during the annual audit
- Assist the Accounts Payable Supervisor with daily accounting functions
- Liaise with suppliers to negotiate better terms and pricing
- Conduct monthly audits of the Purchase Ledger for cost analysis
Requirements
- Strong bookkeeping and double-entry knowledge
- Excellent attention to detail
- High levels of accuracy
- Quick learner, adept at picking up new programs
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Capable of multitasking and performing well under pressure and tight deadlines
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally at all organizational levels
- 2 years of relevant experience; AAT or first level of ACCA preferred
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel), SUN Systems, and SAP Concur
- Experience handling international suppliers and foreign currency invoices
