Services Support (GBP 11.80 per hour)
We have a fantastic position available working as Customer Services Support based in Royston, Hertfordshire where you will be working within our supply chain/ operations function to enable us to harmonise trade activities across the UK. You will be working in a team and proactively supporting the business in the UK on all import relevant topics and exports related to returns. Ideally you will already have an interest in the field and working for a growing international organisation.
About the position:
Working with transport carriers and providing import clearance instructions in line with Customs Procedure Codes/commodity codes, duties and taxes.
Authorising use of Sartorius deferment or request use of carriers deferment as appropriate.
Reviewing import documentation provided by carriers to ensure that customs entries are correct.
Checking and approving import transport/ charges invoices to ensure that invoiced amount matches expectations.
Reviewing monthly reports and VAT certificates from HMRC to ensure they match our records, notifying any anomalies to the finance team.
Record keeping and administration of all imports and exports (Export and Import Logs).
Working collaboratively with order processing and finance teams.
Tracking incoming shipments up to arrival in the UK.
Record keeping and processing of any cross border transactions between the UK and Republic of Ireland.
Organising international shipments/ returns with carriers.
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of UK Customs and Excise as well as import and export commodity codes.
Educated to GSCE level or equivalent.
International trade qualification desirable.
Experience in working on import processes, customs procedures and legislation would be an advantage.
Knowledge of Supply Chain processes.
Shipping experience and understanding of export legislation desirable.
Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail.
Strong organisational and problem solving skills with demonstrated ability to multi-task.
Expertise in MS Office, particularly Excel; SAP knowledge desirable.
Great communication skills and ability to work with people internationally.
